The Colts looked like they didn’t want to play this game.  Jim Sorgi got his first action of the pre-season completing 11 of 19 passes for 119 yards with 1 TD pass and 0 INTs.  He also carried the ball 2 times for 10 yards (5.0 ypc) but he lost a fumble.  Curtis Painter completed 5 of 9 passes for 43 yards in this game.  RB Lance Ball led the Colts in rushing with 31 yards on 9 carries (3.4 ypc).  WR Taj Smith led the way for the Colts in the passing game with 5 catches for 59 yards (11.8 avg) with a TD.  The Colts finished up this game with only 205 total yards on offense (79 rushing, 126 passing).

CB Jamie Silva was all over the field for the Colts as he led them with 14 tackles and a sack.  The good news for the defense is that they only gave up 93 yards passing.  The bad news is that was because the Bengals rushed for 296 yards on 43 carries (6.9 ypc)!  The Colts finished the pre-season with a 1-3 record.

The Colts just didn’t play well enough to beat the Lions yesterday afternoon in Detroit.  Peyton Manning was outstanding as usual completing 12 of 15 passes for 123 yards with 1 TD pass.  Rookie Curtis Painter finished up this game by completing 9 of 14 passes for 145 yards with 1 interception.  Joseph Addai led the Colts in rushing in this game with 22 yards on 7 carries (3.1 ypc).  Donald Brown pitched in with 16 yards on 5 carries (3.2 ypc) with 1 TD run.  WR Pierre Garcon led the Colts in receiving in this game with 82 yards on 2 catches (41.0 avg).  TE Dallas Clark was also very good in this game as he caught 6 passes for 63 yards (10.5 avg) with 1 TD grab.  The Colts finished up this game with 299 yards of total offense (50 rushing, 249 passing).

The Colts’ D was led by CB Jamie Silva who had 10 tackles.  The Lions finished up with 412 yards of total offense (151 rushing, 261 passing) in this game.

The Colts looked a lot better in this game than the opener against the Vikings.  Peyton Manning was outstanding in this game completing 10 of 14 passes for 167 yards with 2 TD passes.  Curtis Painter was also effective in this game completing 11 of 19 passes for 116 yards with 1 interception.  Lance Ball led the Colts in rushing in this game with 48 yards on 19 carries (2.5 ypc).  Reggie Wayne led the Colts in receiving in this game with 90 yards on 2 catches (45.0 avg) with a TD grab.  TE Jacob Tamme also had a good game with 60 yards on five grabs (12.0 avg).  The Colts only rushed for 62 yards on 29 carries in this game (2.1 ypc) but they also threw for 274 yards which was pretty darn solid.

DE Curtis Johnson (7 tackles, sack) and CB Dante Hughes (7 tackles) led the way for the Colts’ defense in this game.  The Colts were effective against the Eagles’ running game holding them to 23 yards on 17 carries (1.4 ypc).  But, the Eagles threw the ball at will against the Colts rolling up 320 yards in the air.

The Colts didn’t show too much in this game and it showed on the scoreboard.  Peyton Manning was quickly in and out of this game completing 1 of 2 passes for 6 yards.  Rookie Curtis Painter was solid in his first NFL game action completing 10 of 17 passes for 77 yards.  Chris Crane finished up this game completing 3 of 4 passes for 18 yards with a interception.  Rookie Donald Brown looked solid rushing for 58 yards on 5 carries (11.6 ypc) in his first NFL game.  WR John Matthews led the way in the passing game for the Colts with 3 catches for 30 yards (10.0 avg).  The Colts only finished with 142 total yards on offense and held the ball for only 21:01 of this game.

The Colts looked like they didn’t even care in this game.  Jared Lorenzen was not good in this game as he completed 9 of 16 passes for 91 yards with a interception.  Quinn Gray was even worse completing 3 of 12 passes for 37 yards.  He also carried the ball 2 times for 14 yards (7.0 ypc) but he lost a fumble.  RB Chad Simpson led the Colts in rushing in this game with 17 yards on 6 carries (2.8 ypc).  WR Courtney Roby only caught 1 pass for 24 yards but he was really effective on special teams in this game.  Roby scored on a 103-yard kickoff return for a TD in this game as he finished with 3 kickoffs for 170 yards (56.7 avg).  The Colts finished this game with 41 yards rushing on 19 carries (2.2 ypc) and they also completed 12 of 28 passes for 113 yards.

Safety Bannon Condren and linebacker Philip Wheeler led the Colts on defense with 7 tackles apiece.  The Bengals finished up with 171 yards rushing on 38 carries (4.5 ypc) and they also completed 16 of 26 passes for 130 yards.  The Colts finished 1-4 this preseason but they don’t have any reasons to worry unless Peyton Manning gets injured.
