The Colts have placed 25-year old WR Austin Collie on the Injured Reserve List due to a nasty concussion.  This is a huge blow to the Colts as Peyton Manning was 58 of 71 (81.7%) when passing to Collie.  Collie played in 9 games for the Colts this year and he caught 58 passes for 649 yards (11.2 avg) with 8 TD grabs.  He has now played in 25 games in his first two years with the Colts and he has caught 118 passes for 1,325 yards (11.2 avg) with 15 TD grabs.

The Colts have placed 29-year old safety Bob Sanders on the Injured Reserve List ending his season due to a biceps injury.  Sanders played in 2 games for the Colts this year and he had 3 tackles and 1 interception.  Sanders has now played in 47 games in his first six years with the Colts and he has 291 tackles, 15 passes defensed, 3.5 sacks, 2 forced fumbles and 6 interceptions.  Sanders is so injury prone that he’s becoming a liability for the Colts so maybe they should consider cutting him loose over the summer.

The Colts have placed 23-year old cornerback Jerraud Powers on the Injured Reserve List ending his season due to a broken right forearm.  Powers played in 10 games for the Colts this year and he had 53 tackles, 5 tackles for a loss, 9 passes defensed and 2 interceptions.  This is another big blow to the Colts’ D as Powers is a solid corner.

The Colts have placed 24-year old linebacker Cody Glenn on the Injured Reserve List with a neck injury ending his season.  Glenn played in 10 games for the Colts this year and he had 15 tackles.  Glenn has played in 19 games in his first two years with the Colts and he has 24 tackles.  The Colts will miss Glenn on special teams which is where he got most of his action.

The Indianapolis Colts sign Al Afalava and place Chip Vaughn on I.R.

The Indianapolis Colts have signed 23-year old saftey Al Afalava.  Afalava played in 13 games as a rookie for the Bears last season and he had 53 tackles, 7 passes defensed, 2 sacks and 1 forced fumble.  With the state of the Colts’ D right now I wouldn’t be surprised to see Afalava working a lot on defense as early as this weekend.  25-year old safety Chip Vaughn has been placed on the Injured Reserve List with a ankle injury ending his season.  Vaughn played in 3 games for the Colts last season and he had 1 tackle.

The Indianapolis Colts lose Clint Session for a couple of weeks

Blogged under Big Colts News,Bloglockers,Front Page,General Colts Chatter,Injury Reports by admin on Sunday 7 November 2010 at 9:25 am

26-year old linebacker Clint Session is going to miss at least 2 games due to a fractured forearm and a dislocated elbow.  Session has played in 5 games for the Colts so far this year and he has 38 tackles, 1 sack and 1 pass defensed.  Session is going to be replaced in the starting lineup by 28-year old Tyjuan Hagler.  Hagler has played in 4 games for the Colts so far this year and he has 4 tackles.  This is a big dropoff for the Colts.

The Indianapolis Colts lose Antonio Johnson indefinitely

The Colts will be without 25-year old DT Antonio Johnson indefinitely due to knee surgery.  Johnson has played in all six games for the Colts this year and he has 8 tackles.  25-year old Fili Moala will likely get more P.T. with Johnson out of action.  Moala has played in all six games for the Colts so far this year and he has 12 tackles, 1 tackle for a loss, 1 pass defensed and a fumble recovery.  The Colts need Moala to step up while Johnson is out of action.

The Colts will be without starting running back Joseph Addai indefinitely due to a left shoulder injury.  Addai has played in all six games for the Colts so far this year and he has carried the ball 93 times for 406 yards (4.4 ypc) with 3 TD runs.  He has also caught 18 passes for 118 yards (6.6 avg) so far this year.  The Colts need 24-year old Mike Hart and/or 23-year old Donald Brown to step up until Addai is ready to return to action.  Hart has played in 5 games for the Colts so far this year and he has carried the ball 26 times for 93 yards (3.6 ypc) with 1 TD run.  He has also caught 1 pass for 5 yards so far this year.  Donald Brown is also a little dinged up right now.  He has played in 3 games for the Colts this year and he has carried the ball 23 times for 81 yards (3.5 ypc) with 1 TD run.  Brown also has caught 2 passes for 26 yards (13.0 avg) so far this year.
