The lesson to be learned from this game is that the Colts’ defense stinks.  Peyton Manning led the Colts on a 8-play, 65-yard TD drive with only 48 seconds left in the game.  But the Colts’ D couldn’t get the game to O.T. as the Jags put together a 6-play, 36-yard drive that set up Josh Scobee for the game winning 59 yard FG!  Peyton Manning had another stellar game as he completed 33 of 46 passes for 352 yards with 2 TD passes and 1 INT.  Joseph Addai carried the ball 16 times for 63 yards (3.9 ypc) with 2 TD runs and he also caught 3 passes for 19 yards (6.3 avg).  Reggie Wayne led the way for the Colts in the passing game yesterday with 15 grabs for 196 yards (13.1 avg).  TE Dallas Clark (7 rec, 68 yards, TD) and WR Austin Collie (5 rec, 39 yards, TD) also pitched in for the Colts’ in the passing game.  The Colts finished up with 58 yards rushing on 19 carries (3.1 ypc) and they also completed 33 of 46 passes for 348 yards.

Colts’ LB Gary Brackett led the way for the “D” yesterday with 8 tackles.  The Jaguars finished up with 174 yards rushing on 35 carries (5.0 ypc) and they also completed 17 of 22 passes for 163 yards.  The Colts are now 2-2 on the season but they are 0-2 in the division.

Indianapolis Colts 27, Denver Broncos 13

The Colts dominated this game yesterday.  Peyton Manning was his usual outstanding self as he completed 27 of 43 passes for 325 yards with 3 TD passes and 0 INTs.  Joseph Addai had a rough time finding running room as he carried the ball 13 times for 29 yards (2.2 ypc) yesterday.  Austin Collie had a monster game for the Colts with 12 catches for 171 yards (14.3 avg) with 2 TD grabs.  WR Blair White pitched in with 3 carries for 27 yards (9.0 avg) with a TD grab.  The Colts finished up with 40 yards rushing on 22 carries (1.8 ypc) and they also completed 27 of 43 passes for 325 yards.

The Colts’ D was in bend but don’t break mode yesterday.  CB Kelvin Hayden (10 tackles, 1 pass defensed), LB Gary Brackett (9 tackles, 1 pass defensed) and CB Jacob Lacey (7 tackles, 1 tackle for a loss, 2 passes defensed and 1 interception) led the way for the Colts’ D last night.  The Broncos finished up with 47 yards rushing on 18 carries (2.6 ypc) and they also completed 37 of 57 passes for 472 yards.  The Colts are now 2-1 on the year.

The Indianapolis Colts dominated the Giants last night in the ‘Manning Bowl’.  Peyton Manning was very sharp last night in completing 20 of 26 passes for 255 yards with 3 TD passes and 0 INTs.  Joseph Addai looked good too with 20 carries for 92 yards (4.6 ypc) and 2 catches for 21 yards (10.5 avg).  Donald Brown was also solid with 16 carries for 69 yards (4.3 ypc) with a TD run and 1 catch for 19 yards last night.  Reggie Wayne (7 rec, 96 yards, TD), Dallas Clark (5 rec, 83 yards, TD) and Austin Collie (4 rec, 25 yards, TD) all played very well for the Colts last night.  The Colts finished up with 160 yards rushing on 43 carries (3.7 ypc) and they also completed 20 of 26 passes for 250 yards.

CB Kelvin Hayden led the way for the Colts’ D last night with 8 tackles and 1 pass defensed.  DEs Robert Mathis and Dwight Freeney combined to have 7 tackles, 4 sacks, 1 tackle for a loss and 4 QB hits as it was like they were living in the Giants’ backfield.  CB Jerraud Powers (3 tackles, 2 passes defensed and 1 interception) and DT Fili Moala (fumble recovery for a TD) also made big plays for the Colts last night.  The Giants finished up with 120 yards rushing on 25 carries (4.8 ypc) and they also completed 13 of 24 passes for 137 yards.  The Colts are now 1-1 on the year.

Houston Texans 34, Indianapolis Colts 24

The Colts got physically abused by the Texans yesterday.  Every time the Colts drew closer the Texans scored and put the game further away as the Colts never led in this game.  Peyton Manning completed 40 of 57 passes for 433 yards with 3 TD passes and 0 INTs but he got most of those numbers later in the game trying to play catch-up.  Joseph Addai carried the ball 10 times for 44 yards (4.4 ypc) and he also caught 6 passes for 29 yards (4.8 avg).  Dallas Clark (11 rec, 80 yards), Austin Collie (10 rec, 131 yards) and Reggie Wayne (7 rec, 99 yards) each caught a TD apiece in this game for the Colts.  The Colts finished up with 44 yards on 10 carries (4.4  ypc) and they also completed 40 of 57 passes for 419 yards.

The Colts were manhandled on defense as Arian Foster ran all over them in this game!  Safety Antoine Bethea led the way for the Colts on “D” in this game with 13 tackles and 1 QB hit.  Safety Melvin Bullitt pitched in with 5 tackles, 1 pass defensed and 1 interception yesterday.  The Texans finished up with 257 yards rushing on 42 carries (6.1 ypc) and they also completed 9 of 17 passes for 98 yards.  The Colts have already lost more games this year and they did in the first 3.5 months last year.

New Orleans Saints 31, Indianapolis Colts 17

Things were looking good for the Colts yesterday at the end of the first quarter with them up 10-0.  Even at the half with the Colts up 10-6 the coaches had to be happy.  But then the roof caved in as the Saints recovered a onside kick to start the second half and they never looked back outscoring the Colts 25-7 the rest of the game.  Peyton Manning’s overall numbers looked pretty good yesterday but the fact his that the Colts only scored 17 points.  Manning completed 31 of 45 passes for 333 yards with 1 TD pass and 1 interception.  The pickoff was returned 74 yards for a TD by Saints’ QB Tracy Porter which was a huge blow in the 4th quarter as it put the Saints up 14 points with not much time left in the game.  Manning is now a very pedestrian 9-9 in his career in the post season.  Joseph Addai had a solid game for the Colts as he carried the ball 13 times for 77 yards (5.9 ypc) with a TD run and he also caught 7 passes for 58 yards (8.3 avg).  Donald Brown pitched in with 18 yards on 4 carries (4.5 ypc) and he also caught 1 pass for 11 yards.  Dallas Clark led the way in the passing game for the Colts yesterday with 7 grabs for 86 yards (12.3 avg).  Austin Collie (6 rec, 66 yards) and Pierre Garcon (5 rec, 66 yards, TD) pitched in with solid games for the Colts yesterday.  Reggie Wayne had a tough game as he caught 5 passes for 46 yards (9.2 avg).  He dropped a ball that hit both of his hands that would have been a TD late in the 4th quarter that would have cut the lead to 31-24.  The Colts finished up with 432 total yards on offense (99 rushing, 333 passing) but it wasn’t enough to win the Super Bowl.

The Colts defense played great in the first half yesterday but they were awful in the second half.  Linebacker Gary Brackett led the way for the Colts on D yesterday with 13 tackles and 1 pass defensed.  DE Dwight Freeney made little impact in the game as he played finishing with 1 tackle and 1 sack.  The Saints finished up with 332 total yards on offense (51 rushing, 281 passing) in this game.

The Colts had a great season but it’s back to the drawing board as they didn’t reach their goal for 2009 which was to win the Super Bowl.

The Colts were down 17-13 at the half but then Peyton Manning took over the game showing why is the the reigning MVP of the NFL.  He completed 26 of 39 passes for 377 yards with 3 TD passes and 0 INTs.  Joseph Addai even gave the Colts a little running game with 80 yards rushing on 16 carries (5.0 ypc).  He also caught 1 pass for 13 yards yesterday.  Pierre Garcon (11 rec, 151 yards, TD) and rookie Austin Collie (7 rec, 123 yards, TD) were both awesome yesterday as the Colts made the Jets pay for using Darrelle Revis on Reggie Wayne.  Wayne only caught 3 passes for 55 yards (18.3 avg) in the game yesterday.  TE Dallas Clark pitched in with 4 grabs for 35 yards (8.8 avg) with a TD grab.  The Colts finished up with 461 total yards on offense in this game (101 rushing, 360 passing).

LB Gary Brackett (8 tackles, 1 tackle for a loss) and CB Kelvin Hayden (6 tackles, 2 passes defensed and 1 INT) led the way for the Colts’ D yesterday.  The Jets finished up with 388 total yards on offense (86 rushing, 302 passing) in this game.  Still, the Colts will take on the Saints in the Super Bowl in Miami.

Buffalo Bills 30, Indianapolis Colts 7

It was cold and nasty up in Buffalo yesterday but that will be the last game the Colts will play in conditions like that this season.  The Colts didn’t look like they wanted to play as the Bills destroyed them.  Peyton Manning started the game by completing 14 of 18 passes for 95 yards with 1 INT.  Rookie Curtis Painter showed once again that he is not ready for prime time.  He completed 4 of 17 passes for 39 yards with a INT and he also lost a fumble.  Mike Hart was the leader on the ground for the Colts yesterday with 28 yards rushing on 10 carries (2.8 ypc) with a TD run.  Dallas Clark (7 rec, 52 yards) and Reggie Wayne (5 rec, 21 yards) led the way for the Colts in the passing game yesterday.  The Colts finished up with only 157 total yards on offense (25 rushing, 132 passing) in this game as they only had the ball for 22:26.

The Colts didn’t have any luck on defense as the Bills pushed them around the whole game.  Fred Jackson rushed for 212 yards for the Bills yesterday and Ryan Fitzpatrick threw 3 TD passes which should tell you all you need to know about this game.  CB Jamie Silva (10 tackles, 2 passes defensed) and LB Freddy Keiaho (9 tackles, 1 tackle for a loss and 1 pass defensed) led the way on D for the Colts yesterday.  The Bills finished up with 403 total yards on offense (248 rushing, 155 passing) in this game.  The Colts finished the season with a 14-2 record earning a bye next week.

The Colts were winning this game 15-10 in the third quarter when they pulled a lot of the starting players which explains the result.  Peyton Manning completed 14 of 21 passes for 192 yards while he was in the game.  Curtis Painter had a debut to forget for the Colts as he completed 4 of 11 passes for 44 yards with 0 TD passes and 1 INT.  He also lost a fumble that resulted in a TD for the Jets.  Joseph Addai led the way for the Colts on the ground in this game with 40 yards rushing on 6 carries (6.7 ypc) with a TD run.  Rookie RB Donald Brown had a rough game for the Colts yesterday carrying the rock 16 times for 22 yards (1.4 ypc) with a TD run.  Austin Collie led the way in the passing game for the Colts yesterday with 6 grabs for 94 yards (15.7 avg).   The Colts finished up with 277 total yards on offense (64 rushing, 213 passing) in this game.

The defense got pushed around by the Jets in the running game yesterday.  LB Ramon Humber (9 tackles) and CB Eric Foster (7 tackles) led the way for the Colts on D in this game.  The Jets finished up with 293 total yards in this game (202 rushing, 91 passing).  The Colts also had a bad miscue on special teams as Brad Smith of the Jets returned a kickoff 106 yards for a TD.  The Colts are now 14-1 on the year.

The Colts had a knock down, drag out fight last night in Jacksonville, Florida.  Peyton Manning threw a 65-yard TD to Reggie Wayne with 5:23 left in the game which finished up the scoring on the night.  Peyton Manning completed 23 of 30 passes for 308 yards with 4 TD passes and 1 INT as he was outstanding last night.  Joseph Addai didn’t offer much help to Manning last night as he rushed for 59 yards on 16 carries (3.7 ypc) and he also caught 3 passes for 14 yards (4.7 avg).  Reggie Wayne led the way for the Colts in the passing game with 132 yards receiving on 5 catches (26.4 avg) with a TD grab.  Dallas Clark also had a solid game with 7 grabs for 95 yards (13.6 avg) with 2 TD grabs.  Austin Collie pitched in with 3 grabs for 27 yards (9.0 avg) with a TD grab.  The Colts finished up with 369 total yards on offense (61 rushing, 308 passing) in this game.

The defense didn’t play too well last night for the Colts.  LB Philip Wheeler led the way for the Colts last night with 11 tackles, 2 tackles for a loss and a pass defensed.  CB Jacob Lacey also had a decent game with 5 tackles, 2 passes defensed and 1 interception.  The Jaguars finished up with 345 total yards (139 rushing, 206 passing) in this game.  The Colts also got a huge boost from the special teams as back-up running back Chad Simpson returned 3 kickoffs for 127 yards (42.3 avg) with a 93-yard return for a TD.  The Colts are now 14-0 on the season.

Indianapolis Colts 28, Denver Broncos 16

The Indianapolis Colts blew an early 21-0 lead against the Denver Broncos, but they held on for the win to stay undefeated.  It was the Colts 22nd straight regular season win, a new NFL record.  It was also their 114th win of the decade which is the most of any decade.  This all came despite Peyton Manning having his worst game of the season, with a season high 3 interceptions and a season low of 220 passing yards.  He started the day off great, leading the Colts to three touchdowns on their first four possessions.  Manning’s hot hand went very cold after that though, as balls were bouncing all over the place and he threw three interceptions before finding the endzone again late in the 4th quarter to seal the victory.  Peyton did get some solid support from his running backs, with Joseph Addai and Mike Hart combining for 95 yards on 25 carries.

The Colts defense played pretty well, except when it came to covering Broncos’ receiver Brandon Marshall.  Marshall killed the Colts for a record breaking 21 catches for 200 yards and 2 touchdowns.  Marshall broke the single game reception mark previously held by Terrell Owens.  The Colts were able to pick off Broncos’ quarterback Kyle Orton once, but Marshall helped him finish with 2 touchdowns and 277 yards (2nd highest of his season).  The Colts defense did do a good job considering their offense turned the ball over three times.  With only the Jaguars, Jets, and Bills left on their schedule, the Colts look like they just might get that undefeated regular season.
