The Indianapolis Colts sign CB Anthony Madison
The Colts have signed 28-year old CB Anthony Madison. Madison played in 4 games for the Browns earlier this season and he made 2 tackles. In his four year career, Madison has played in 42 games in which he has made 44 tackles. This was a good move for the Colts as Madison gives them some depth at corner and he is a good special teams player.
The Indianapolis Colts lose Adam Vinatieri and sign Matt Stover
The Colts have lost kicked Adam Vinatieri for at least the next six weeks after he underwent surgery to repair cartilage damage in his right knee. Vinatieri has made 6 of 8 field goals (75%) this season and he has nailed all 17 of his extra points for 35 total points. The Colts have signed 41-year old Matt Stover to fill in while Vinatieri is out of action and he is a darn good kicker himself. He played in all 16 games last season for the Ravens and he made 27 of 33 field goals (81.8%) and he all made all 41 of his extra point attempts last season as he scored 122 points last season. Stover has now kicked in 287 games in his NFL career and he has nailed 462 of 552 field goals (83.7%) and he has also converted 558 of 561 extra points. Stover has scored 1,944 points in his NFL career. The Colts were lucky to find a kicker as skilled as Stover sitting at home on the couch.
The Indianapolis Colts sign WR Hank Baskett
The Colts have signed 27-year old WR Hank Baskett. Baskett played in the season opener for the Eagles catching 1 pass for 6 yards. He has now played in 48 games in his NFL career and he has caught 72 passes for 1,052 yards (14.6 avg) with 6 TD grabs. Baskett came to the perfect place to jumpstart his career as Pierre Garcon and Austin Collie are the only things between him and a starting job. This was a good move by the Colts.
The Indianapolis Colts re-sign linebacker Freddie Keiaho
The Colts have re-signed 26-year old linebacker Freddie Keiaho. Keiaho is a bit undersized at 5′11″, 226 pounds but he’s still a steady tackler on the inside of the defense. He played in 14 games for the Colts last season making 105 tackles. In his three seasons with the Colts, Keiaho has played in 39 games in which he has made 207 tackles, defensed 1 pass, has 1/2 a sack, he’s forced 2 fumbles and intercepted 1 pass. Don’t expect a lot of big plays out of Keiaho but he is a steady player.
