Indianapolis Colts vs. Jacksonville Jaguars

Blogged under Bloglockers, Front Page, This Week's Matchup Report, General Colts Chatter by dawgpounded on Friday 19 October 2007 at 11:23 pm

This game is for first place in the AFC South. The Colts are 5-0 and the Jaguars are 4-1 on the season. The Colts have won both of their road games this season but they’ve been close. Also, remember what the Jags did to the Colts last season in Jacksonville…….a 44-17 Jags romp! The game pits two teams with contrasting styles of play as the Colts are a more finesse team while the Jaguars like to bring the pain.

The Jaguars gave up a ton of rushing yards in the first game of the season against the Titans (282 yards) but they have tightened up the run D only allowing 50.0 yards rushing per game the rest of the year. Joseph Addai will be back for Monday Night’s game so it will be strength against strength. The Colts have only allowed 3 sacks this season so Peyton Manning could have enough time to throw the ball downfield to Reggie Wayne, Marvin Harrison and Dallas Clark.

The Jaguars are going to attack the Colts on the ground without a doubt. Maurice Drew (307 yards rushing) and Fred Taylor (297 yards rushing) should get their yards despite the improved run defense of the Colts. David Garrard (104.7 QB Rating) has been outstanding this season despite not having any standout receivers. He has done a great job of spreading the football around this season and he will likely try the same thing on Monday Night.

PREDICTION: The Jaguars will be sky high for this game and they’ll take the fight to the Colts. JAGUARS 27, COLTS 24.

The Indianapolis Colts will use bye week to get healthy

Blogged under Bloglockers, Front Page, General Colts Chatter by dawgpounded on Thursday 11 October 2007 at 2:51 pm

The Colts are really happy to be 5-0 going into the bye week which comes at a great time for them. But last weeks 33-14 drubbing of the Bucs despite playing without a lot of key players had the Colts smiling. Still, the Colts hope that they can get Marvin Harrison, Aaron Moorehead, Ben Utecht, Bob Sanders and Freddy Keiaho back for a key game at Jacksonville on Monday Night Football (Oct. 22nd). The Colts will be looking to win another game on the road in the AFC South where they are 2-0 despite playing two close game outscoring the Texans and Titans by a combined score of 52-44. The Titans and Jaguars are both 3-1 right now and the Texans are 3-2 which means that every division game is very, very important for the Colts.

The Perfect Storm

Blogged under Bloglockers, Front Page, General Colts Chatter by Pats Fan Nick on Wednesday 10 October 2007 at 11:44 am

WHEN YOU LOOK AT THE BROWNS v PATS GAMEÂ THERE IS SOMETHING THAT THE COLTSÂ WILL BE ABLE TO UNDERSTANDÂ AS TO WHY THEY WILL MOST LIKELY LOOZZ THEIR NEXT MATCH WITH Â THE PATS.

The Colts are good, and they put up the numbers. But no matter how good they are and yes they are better then good… you Colts fans need to know that there is a confluence of powers that is forming and heading right your way.Â

On 11/4 the Colts will find themselves in the mist of a PERFECT STORM FROM NEW ENGLAND – ya need ta hunker down; and be scared.

Against the Browns the PATS played a poor game. Moss and partner were isolated quite successfully – and the Browns torched us a few times.

The Browns held us to our lowest scoring to-date and the Browns scored more points on us then any other team to-date.

Now as we all know the BROWNS are no where near the team that the COLTS are; in fact with the exception of a few bright spots, the Browns are a poor to bad team. Â

NOW CAN THE COLTS FANS FIGURE OUT WHY SUCH A DISMAL PERFORMANCE BY THE PAT v BROWNS SHOULD GIVE THE COLTS, A VASTLY  SUPERIOR TEAM THAN THE BROWNS, PAUSE FOR CONCERN ABOUT THE OUTCOME OF PATS v COLTS – CAN YA FIGURE IT OUT GUYS ( AND GALS)?

MOST LIKELY NOT UNTIL YOUR LOSS TO US !!!!!!!!!

The Colts dominated the Bucs on Sunday. They had possession of the football for an amazing 38:15 of the game and that made it really easy on the defense. Peyton Manning was pretty sharp as he completed 29 of 37 passes for 253 yards with 2 TD passes and 1 interception. RB Kenton Keith was outstanding filling in for Joseph Addai as he carried the ball 28 times for 121 yards (4.3 ypc) with 2 TD runs and he also caught 5 passes for 37 yards (7.4 avg). Anthony Gonzalez (71 yards), Reggie Wayne (62 yards, TD) and Dallas Clark (49 yards, TD) each caught 7 passes. The Colts finished up with 147 yards rushing on 40 carries (3.7 ypc) and they completed 29 of 37 passes for 253 yards.

Safety Antoine Bethea led the way for the Colts’ defense with 7 tackles and 1 interception. The Colts held the Bucs to 17 yards rushing on 12 carries (1.4 ypc) and the Bucs completed 21 of 27 passes for 160 yards.

T.J. Rushing is doing a good job on special teams for the Indianapolis Colts

Blogged under Bloglockers, Front Page, General Colts Chatter by dawgpounded on Friday 5 October 2007 at 10:14 pm

T.J. Rushing is doing a good job this season for the Colts as the main return man. Rushing has returned 5 punts for 36 yards (7.2 avg) and 12 kickoffs for 324 yards (27.0 avg). Rushing is giving the Colts good starting field position and he’s on the brink of taking one to the house.
