Colts get back on track and blast the Bengals 34-16

The Colts totally dominated this football game. Peyton Manning was on fire as he completed 29 of 36 passes for 282 yards and 4 TDs. Joseph Addai was having a good game until he got injured. Addai carried the ball 8 times for 50 yards (6.3 ypc) and caught 2 passes for 29 yards. Dominic Rhodes took over and carried the ball 19 times for 52 yards (2.7 ypc) and he caught 4 passes for 26 yards. Marvin Harrison had a fantastic game as he caught 8 passes for 86 yards and 3 TDs. Reggie Wayne also had a good game with 7 catches for 84 yards and a TD. Ben Utecht caught 4 passes for 35 yards.

Cato June led an outstanding effort by the defense with 12 tackles. Dwight Freeney finally showed up for the season and had 3 sacks. The Colts still had problems stopping the run as the Bengals carried the ball 30 times for 133 yards rushing (4.3 ypc). The Bengals completed 14 of 28 passes for only 145 net yards passing.

The Colts improved to 11-3 on the season with this victory.

Indianapolis Colts vs. Cincinnati Bengals

The Bengals have been on fire lately and have won for straight by a combined score of 101-33! The Colts have lost 2 in a row and 3 of their last 4 games.

The Bengals will give the ball to Rudi Johnson early and often. The Colts are allowing 176.5 yards rushing per game and 5.4 yards per carry. Johnson (1,054 yards rushing) should get 25+ carries and the Bengals are 17-0 when Johnson totes the rock at least 25 times in a game. Don’t think for a minute that Carson Palmer won’t be coming after the Colts secondary too. Chad Johnson (77 rec, 1,247 yards) and TJ Houshmandzadeh (73 rec, 894 yards) should have big games on Monday Night. Chris Henry will be the secret weapon for Palmer as he has caught 7 TDs this season.

The Colts would love to try to pound Joseph Addai (867 yards rushing) and Dominic Rhodes (532 yards rushing) at the interior of the Bengals defense which has allowed 109.0 yards rushing per game and 4.2 yards per carry. The Colts would be smart to run the ball to keep the Bengals offense on the sideline, because the Bengals might score every time they get the ball. The Bengals are giving up 238.5 net yards passing per game, so Peyton Manning (3,628 yards passing) should get his yards as long as the Colts line keeps him clean. Marvin Harrison (74 rec, 1,094 yards) and Reggie Wayne (70 rec, 1,129 yards) should have big games.

This should be a shoot-out similar to last seasons contest won by the Colts 45-37. I have a feeling that the Bengals are going to turn the tables on them this time and win the game.

Colts linebackers busy

Blogged under Bloglockers, Front Page by ravenhater on Thursday 14 December 2006 at 3:19 pm

The defensive line of the Colts is playing so bad against the run that it has put a ton of pressure on the linebacking corps. Cato June has stepped up as he has 113 tackles, 1/2 a sack, a fumble recovery and 2 interceptions. He undoubtedly has been the leader of the poor Colts defense. Gary Brackett is currently second on the team with 92 tackles, but he hasn’t made many big plays. It’s been tough on the linebackers, because the line isn’t doing their part thus the linebackers are having to deal with offensive linemen and linebackers usually lose those battles.

Dallas Clark out

Dallas Clark will miss Monday Night’s game with the Bengals with a bad knee. Ben Utecht and Bryan Fletcher will have to pick up the slack.

Brandon Stokley out for season

Blogged under Bloglockers, Front Page, Big Colts News, Injury Reports, General Colts Chatter by ravenhater on Tuesday 12 December 2006 at 5:43 pm

Brandon Stokley will miss the rest of the season after he ruptured his Achilles Tendon in the game against the Jaguars last Sunday. Stokley had a rough season as he only played in 4 games and caught 8 passes for 85 yards (10.6 avg) and a TD. Ricky Proehl will take his place. Proehl has a similar skill set to Stokley and he should fit right in for the Colts.
