Colts destroyed in Jacksonville 44-17

The Colts never had a chance in this football game. They couldn’t stop the Jaguars from running all over them and the offense never really got on track. Peyton Manning had one of his worst games in awhile. Manning completed 25 of 50 passes for 313 yards and a INT. Manning also carried the ball once, for a one-yard TD. Joseph Addai had a rough game as he carried the ball 11 times for 22 yards (2.0 ypc) and a TD. Dominic Rhodes carried the ball 8 times for 11 yards (1.4 ypc) and a TD. He also caught 3 passes for 18 yards. Reggie Wayne had a decent game with 8 catches for 110 yards. Marvin Harrison caught 6 passes for 101 yards, and went over 1,000 catches for his career. Ben Utecht added 3 catches for 32 yards.

Matt Giordano might have been the only defender who came to play as he had 9 tackles and an interception. The Jaguars ran the ball 42 times for 375 yards (8.9 ypc). The Jags didn’t need to pass as they only completed 8 of 14 passes for 72 net yards passing.

The Colts have fallen to 10-3 on the season and are now behind the Chargers in the race for home-field advantage in the playoffs.

First round pick a hit for the Colts

The Colts needed a running back after Edgerrin James bolted for the Arizona Cardinals. They knew they had Dominic Rhodes, but they wanted better. They found that in first round pick Joseph Addai. Many thought he would be too small and worried that he was never a workhorse at LSU, but he’s proving the naysayers wrong. Addai has carried the ball 171 times for 845 yards (4.9 ypc) and 7 TDs. Addai also has caught 30 passes for 245 yards (8.2 avg) and caught a TD.

Indianapolis Colts vs. Jacksonville Jaguars

The Colts have lost 2 of their last 3 games and are starting to show cracks in the foundation of their team. The Jaguars are 5-1 at home this season and have out-scored their opponents 150-47 in those games.

The Colts will probably come out running the ball to attempt to keep their own defense off the field. Joseph Addai (845 yards rushing) and Dominic Rhodes (521 yards rushing) will try their best against the Jags stiff run defense that is only allowing 91.5 yards rushing and 3.5 yards per carry this season. Peyton Manning will still get to throw the ball downfield to Marvin Harrison (68 rec, 993 yards) and Reggie Wayne (62 rec, 1,019 yards), but he must always know where Reshean Mathis is. Mathis has already intercepted 7 passes and returned them 146 yards.

The Jaguars will run the football all game long against the sorry Colts run defense. Fred Taylor (952 yards rushing), Maurice Drew (500 yards rushing) and David Garrard should all have good games against the Colts who allow 159.9 yards rushing and 5.1 yards per carry so far this season. Look for Garrard to make a few connections with Matt Jones, who’s suddenly got very hot.

The Jaguars will win this football game. They are just too nasty for the Colts and they have the perfect offense to take advantage of the Colts pathetic defense.

Colts fall in last seconds to Titans 20-17

The Colts just had huge problems on defense with Vince Young and the Titans running attack and it cost them the game as the Titans hit a 60 yard FG with 7 seconds left in the game.

Peyton Manning had a solid game completing 21 of 28 passes for 351 yards with 1 TD and 2 INTs. Joseph Addai carried the ball 16 times for 56 yards (3.5 ypc). Dominic Rhodes carried the ball 12 times for 39 yards (3.3 ypc) and a TD, he also caught 5 passes for 29 yards. Marvin Harrison had a huge game with 7 receptions for 172 yards and a TD. Reggie Wayne added 3 catches for 57 yards. Reserve TE Bryan Fletcher caught 3 passes for 56 yards.

Cato June (9 tackles) and Marlin Jackson (5 tackles, INT) led the way for the Colts defense. The Colts couldn’t stop the Titans running game as they carried the ball 35 times for 219 yards (6.3 ypc). The Titans completed 15 of 25 passes for 163 net yards passing.

This loss hurt the Colts, because they are now tied with the Chargers for the best record in the AFC at 10-2.

Indianapolis Colts vs. Tennessee Titans

Blogged under Bloglockers,Front Page,This Week's Matchup Report by ravenhater on Friday 1 December 2006 at 4:23 pm

The Colts rebounded last week from their first loss of the season and thrashed the Philadelphia Eagles 45-21. The Titans have won two games in a row and might be riding a wave of emotion after their unbelievable comeback win last week against the Giants.

Look for the Colts to run the ball at the start of the game. Joseph Addai (789 yards rushing) and Dominic Rhodes (482 yards rushing) should have no problem racking up yards against the porous Titans run defense. The Titans are allowing 147.7 yards rushing per game and 4.6 yards per carry. Peyton Manning will take his shots down the field against the Titans defense that is allowing 220.1 net yards passing per game. Marvin Harrison and Reggie Wayne could both have huge games this week.

The Titans rushed for 214 yards as a team the last time the Colts and Titans hooked up. Look for the Titans to have a similar gameplan this week. The Colts allow 154.5 yards rushing per game and 4.9 yards per carry, so Travis Henry (756 yards rushing) and Vince Young (295 yards rushing) could each have big days as the Titans try to play keep away from the Colts offense.

I think this game will be a close one like the first one these two played (Colts won 14-13). I have to side with the Colts, because Manning should have a good game.
