Colts vs. Texans

Blogged under Front Page,This Week's Matchup Report by ravenhater on Tuesday 12 September 2006 at 10:51 pm

The Texans can keep this game close if they can duplicate the Giants’ gameplan from Sunday night. The Colts gave up 186 yards rushing to the Giants, the problem for the Texans is that they don’t have comparable skill players to pull it off. Rookie RB Wali Lundy and Vernand Morency should get some yards if the line gives them a little running room. WRs Andre Johnson and Eric Moulds can beat the Colts’ DBs if the line gives David Carr some time.

Peyton Manning will light up a Texans’ secondary that allowed Donovan McNabb and the Eagles to throw for 311 yards. The Colts would like to establish a running game with Dominic Rhodes and Joseph Addai, but it won’t be essential to get the Colts a win here.

This game could be a little closer than most people think but the Colts will win.

Colts somehow pull out 26-21 against the Giants

Blogged under Bloglockers,Front Page by ravenhater on Tuesday 12 September 2006 at 8:13 am

The Colts must have been saying their prayers on Sunday, because the running game and the defense were downright awful and they still won the game. Peyton Manning completed 25 of 41 passes (61%) for 276 yards with 1 TD and 1 interception. RB Dominic Rhodes carried the ball 16 times for 29 yards (1.8 ypc) and a TD, he also caught 3 passes for 14 yards. Joseph Addai carried the ball 7 times for 26 yards (3.7 ypc) and caught 3 passes for 22 yards. WR Marvin Harrison caught 9 passes for 113 yards (12.6 avg) and Reggie Wayne caught 4 passes for 67 yards (16.8 avg).

The defense was dowright putrid. The Giants ran the ball 28 times for 186 yards (6.6 ypc)! The Colts allowed the Giants to complete 58.8% of their passes for 247 net yards thru the air.

If the running game and defense don’t improve, this teams season will end in disappointment just like last season did.

Well off and running

Well Colts fans as much as they Colts impress me on a normal basis tonights game was a bad attemt at a game, without a established running game how do we possible expect to go all the way to a super bowl.I really hope that coach Dungy has something up his sleves to accomplish this goal..Yet we pulled out a VICTORY…….GO COLTS… Ihope that between now and the play off we can get our running game off and running.Have to give Laser Manning a shout out great job Peyton ya kept us in the game by moveing around and buying time to you i give the first Colts football award from my column as their will be many more to come..I will be glued watching the next Colts game and hopeing for some improvements..Till then Go COLTS!!!!!!!!!!

Colts vs. Giants

Click here to see if the Colts are favored

The Colts are everyone’s pick to go to the Super Bowl…….but not so fast my friend. The Colts are gonna find out the hard way, starting this week……that Joe Addai + Dominic Rhodes is less than Edgerrin James, and it’s not even close. The Giants front 7 on their defense are gonna shut down Rhodes and Addai and force Manning to pass. So what? Right? The problem with that thinking is that Mike Strahan and Osi Umenyiora play defensive end and will be pressuring Peyton Manning to throw before he wants to. The Giants have a good secondary that matches up very well with the Colts receivers.

The Colts defense is built on speed. The Giants offense prefers to be physical, both in the running game and the passing game.. Tiki Barber is a tremendous mis-match against any linebacker on the Colts roster. Barber will have a huge game on Sunday night, which will set up Eli Manning for play action passes to Shockey, Burress and Toomer.

I think the younger Manning beats big brother in a very good football game.

will dallas clark play?

hey colts fans. i guess i’ve come around too, but not for bandwagon reasons. ya’ll got two of my beloved hawkeyes on your team… oh and your qb is like the best ever ! i hope the colts win it all this year unless it’s against bears, but who am i kiddin’. anyway, someone help my sorry-ass east. IA fantasy team. is clark gonna play? i hear still questionable. anybody…? would tony dungy please respond?

Tony Dungy

Blogged under Bloglockers,Front Page by ravenhater on Tuesday 5 September 2006 at 1:38 pm

Tony Dungy has a career record of 102-58 (63.8% wins) and 5-8 in the post-season. Dungy has won 4 division titles. Dungy is 48-16 (75% wins) with the Colts.

Dungy can’t win the big one though. Dungy always gets out-coached in the big-game. When he left the Bucs, they won the Super Bowl the next season.

Colts career QB numbers

Blogged under Bloglockers,Front Page by ravenhater on Monday 4 September 2006 at 1:03 pm

Peyton Manning has a career record of 80-48 (62.5% wins) as a starting QB. Manning is only 3-6 as a starter in the playoffs. Manning has a 93.5 career QB rating.

Jim Sorgi has never started a game, but has a career QB rating of 99.3.

Colts add two, cut one

Blogged under Bloglockers,Front Page by ravenhater on Monday 4 September 2006 at 12:59 pm

The Colts added DT Dan Klecko and running back de de Dorsey off waivers on Sunday. Klecko is coming from the Patriots and the Colts hope he will be able to add some toughness on the D-Line. Dorsey is an interesting player that the Bengals cut despite his great pre-season. Dorsey carried the ball 20 times for 149 yards (7.5 ypc) and caught three passes for 80 yards. Dorsey could get a shot at some point this season if Rhodes or Addai falter.

Running back Jonathan Wells failed to impress and was cut by the Colts.

Colts acquire DE Ryan LaCasse from Ravens

The Colts traded an undisclosed draft pick to the Baltimore Ravens for DE Ryan LaCasse. LaCasse will provide depth behind Freeney and Mathis.
